Ahrak, Miriam

Daughter of Shoshana and Yosef, was born on May 15, 1961 in Kfar Saba. When she was three years old Miriam was operated twice in her ear, and when she was four years old, she was hurt when she was pushed and fell on the stairs of her house. But Miriam grew stronger and grew into a nice, active and industrious girl. Miriam began her studies at Herzliya State High School in Herzliya and graduated from the Amirim High School. Before she was drafted into the army, and even after her discharge from the army, Miriam worked in every job she had to save money. She saved every penny and bought all the necessary household equipment for her to come. However, Miriam did not enjoy all this. In May 1984, when she was organized in office work to her satisfaction, she was called up for reserve duty as a communications coordinator. Miriam was a quiet soldier and her job was carried out efficiently, with dedication and responsibility. She finished her reserve duty and was on her way home when a fatal car accident occurred and Miriam was mortally wounded. On 19.6.1984 Miriam fell in the line of duty and was put to rest in the military cemetery in Herzliya. She left behind her parents, brothers and sisters. Her parents donated a library to the Sha’arei Rachamim Synagogue in Rishon-Lezion, in Herzliya
