Aharonov, Yaakov

Son of Livneh Bias and Tzemach was born on July 20, 1925, in the city of Tiflis, Russia. In 1932 he immigrated to Israel. At the outbreak of the War of Independence Yaakov was drafted into the defensive forces and took part in the battles. Yaakov was wounded in the capture of Lod during Operation Dani on July 11, 1948, and died of his wounds at Tel-Litvinsky Hospital (Tel Hashomer today) on the 15th of Tamuz, July 22, 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
