Aharoni, Yehuda
Yehuda, son of Malka and Yosef Aharoni, was born on March 6, 1926 in Jerusalem. His father died when he was eight years old, and was educated in an orphanage until he was fifteen years old. Yehuda was a member of the Irgun Zvai Leumi (National Military Organization) and was called “Mizrachi.” He participated in a number of dangerous activities in the Irgun, but he did not reveal this secret to anyone. He participated in the battle against the Arab Legion in Sheikh Jarrah. On June 3, 1948, he was seriously wounded in the shelling and on the 28th of Iyar 5708 (June 6, 1948) died of his wounds. Yehuda was buried in Sheik-Bader Aleph. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
