Aharoni, Gilad


Ben Haya and Amnon. Gilad was born on August 21, 1976 in Akko. He grew up and was educated in Acre, completed high school in the machinery department at the AMIT Kennedy School, and on May 24, 1995, he joined the Border Police and served as a combat soldier in the North Border Police. On May 24, 1998, he served as a motorcyclist in the Northern Command, serving as a patrolman in the Northern Command. On April 5, 2006, after a year of acquaintance, they married. Gilad and Pazit built their home in Acre. He was a dedicated and loving father and husband, a good son and brother, a loyal friend, an esteemed policeman, an honest and prudent man. Gilad suffered a terminal illness that causes muscular dystrophy. At the time of the discovery of the disease, Pazit was in her fifth month of pregnancy, with their eldest son Uri. Gilad fought the disease with all his strength, while his wife Pazit accompanied him with great devotion. In the advanced stages of the illness, being an inhaler and paralyzed in all parts of his body, his second son, Shai, was born. In accordance with his request, Gilad stayed in the entire period of the illness in his home. On the night of the 22nd of Tevet 5769 (22.1.2009), in the late evening, an advanced sergeant, Gilad, was killed, surrounded by his loving family. Thirty-two years old. He was laid to rest in the Nahariya cemetery. Survived by a woman – Pazit, children – Uri and Shai, a mother – Chaya, two brothers – Tomer and Oshri and a sister – Moriah.
