Agin, Shmuel (“Mula”)


Shmuel, son of Yechiel and Sarah Agin, members of the Degania Bet Group, was born on the 11th of Kislev 5728 (December 5, 1927) in the group. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1948. In the Six-Day War, on the outskirts of Gaza, on the 26th of Iyar 5727 (June 6, 1967), he led his company firmly and quickly and carried out his mission as a responsible officer with excellent training. On the sixth day of the fighting, on the 2nd of Sivan 5727 (10.6.1967), he fell on a tour of Rafah when he was hit by a landmine, and left a wife and three children. Shmuel was buried in a military cemetery in Bari and was later taken to eternal rest in Shuval.
