Agassi, Shimon
Shimon, son of Mazal Tov and Yosef Ezra Agassi was born on 27.2.1929 in Tel Aviv. At the age of 14, he joined Betar and from there moved to the Irgun underground. He completed a commanders’ course and was known as “Tagar”. Shimon was diligent in his studies and grasped information quickly. He is remembered for his politeness, kindness and seriousness in his attitude toward life. Shimon was humble about his traits, which included perseverance, consistency and level-headness under pressure. Shimon took part in the conquest of Jaffa, and only then did his family learn that he was a member of the Irgun. On May 4, Yehudia was conquered by an Irgun unit. On the 4th of Sivan, June 11, 1948, the enemy attacked the village with great force and the defenders of the village, Shimon among them, were unable to repel the attack, and Shimon was brought to eternal rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
