Agassi, Aharon
Son of Rivka and Ezra, was born on March 18, 1920, in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and immigrated to Israel with his parents. Aharon studied at the son of Shemen Youth Village and after a year at the Yagur Regional School. From his youth, he was a member of Ha – Shomer ha – Tsa’ir and one of the first members of the movement’s “nest” in Haifa. At the age of 16, he went fishing in the Haifa bay and later joined the hachshara of his movement in Gan Shmuel and the Eretz Yisraeli kibbutz, which was one of its founders. He worked in various training battalions in Rehovot and Petah Tikva and was accepted as a member of Kibbutz Sarid, where he worked as a driver. Aaron excelled in his love of nature, music, and painting, and was loved by all his acquaintances. From his youth, he traveled extensively in Israel and became familiar with the lives of Arabs, Druze, and Samaritans. On January 17, 1948, on one of the trips from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, the caravan that he was traveling in was attacked and Aharon fell with his weapon in his hand. He was brought to rest in his kibbutz, Sarid, he left a wife Miriam and a daughter Ofra.
