Afriat, Shmuel
Samuel, Ben Miriam, and Abraham was born on 15.8.1954 in El Abash, Morocco, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1961. Shmuel was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-February 1973 and assigned to the Armored Corps, where he completed his basic training in the Patton tank, where he spent his few vacations in the home and helped his parents work during the Yom Kippur War. With his unit to the front in Sinai and bread in the central sector On October 21, 1973, opposite the head of the bridge west of the Suez Canal, his tank was hit and he was killed on the spot. His body was later discovered and he was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Dimona, leaving behind a father, a mother, two brothers and four sisters. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “The late Shmuel fulfilled his duty with great devotion, with great responsibility and with infinite courage, in a battle that took place in him.
