Aflalo, Hila

Hila, daughter of Zippora and Rafael Aflalo, was born in Tzfat in 1985. Hila enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces on October 26, 2003. She served as an Aircraft Technician at the Tel Nof Air Force Base, where she trained as a technician in an aircraft equipment warehouse, and at the same time went to study industrial engineering and management at the Technion. In 2010, while serving in the regular army, Hila was informed that she was ill with cancer. Hila remained imbued with faith in the Creator; she did not give up and fought until the last moment. Hila Aflalo fell during her duties on 7 Tamuz, June 15, 2013, at the age of twenty-eight. She was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Safed. Survived by parents, two sisters and four brothers. After her fall, Hila was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant.
