Adorian (Kraus), Menashe


Son of Anna and Miklos, was born in 1923 in the city of Satmar-Nameti, Hungary to an educated family. Menashe finished high school and said to continue his studies, but in the meantime the war broke out and he was forced to give up his plan. During the terrible days and the Holocaust of the war, he spent difficult days until he succeeded in immigrating to Eretz Israel in 1945 as an “illegal immigrant” and was registered in the name of no one: Moshe Kraus. In Israel he continued to study and support himself in various jobs. At the outbreak of the War of Independence, he enlisted in the Alexandroni Brigade. He participated in the conquest of the village of Tantura (Operation “Port”), and among that fell on the 14th of Iyar 5708 (23.5.1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya
