Adler, Mordechai (“Mordi”, Gyuri)


He was born on May 8, 1920, in the city of Miskolc, Hungary, to a family suffering from poverty and suffering, and from his childhood he was aware of social problems and studies. Mordechai graduated from high school and later found a living as a healer, In 1940, after the outbreak of the Second World War, he suffered persecution like all other Jews and was taken away as a member of the Hungarian “Bolshevik” movement. But was released as a breadwinner after his father’s death, and his family was deported to Auschwitz and exterminated there. After the liberation of Europe he worked for a while in agricultural training and boarded the ship “Bracha Fuld.” His ship was captured by the British and its members were transferred to Cyprus, and Mordechai immigrated to Israel on June 3, 1947. He joined the ” Hashomer Hatzair in Kibbutz Ma’anit, and moved to Kibbutz Yassur, where he became a member of Kibbutz Yassur, took part in the conquest of Akko and was sent to the defense of Negba. On the day of his death, Yassur published a pamphlet on Mordecai’s memory, Mordechai.
