Carmi, son of Tzipora and Natan, was born on 17.1.1951 in Netanya and was named after his uncle, who fell in the War of Independence in front of the invading Syrians in Mishmar Hayarden, where he studied at the Alumot Elementary School, His parents, one of the veteran residents of the country, were impressed by the desire to travel in Israel, to know the Yaffa places in it and to love the flora and fauna. Carmi was modest and pleasant, with great personal charm, which made him a popular and popular friend of the company. He used to invite his friends to parties whose oil was far away, thanks to the warm hospitality and good atmosphere that had prevailed in his home, and even before he enlisted in the regular army, he trained himself and practiced long-distance running and weight lifting, Carmi was drafted into the IDF in the middle of August 1968. He volunteered to serve in a combat unit and was attached to one of the IDF’s elite patrols, where he underwent a parachuting course, a reconnaissance course and a course from the intelligence agencies. He took part in operational activities and was injured in one of the operations and was hospitalized for a long time. After he recovered, he returned to his unit and continued to carry out the tasks assigned to him. At the end of August 1971, Carmi was discharged from the regular army and assigned to the reserve unit of the Intelligence Corps and served as an intelligence officer in the tank brigade. During his vacations, Carmi was a youth counselor, a Gadna counselor at a high school in Tel Aviv, tutored youth from abroad and participated in training activities at the youth hostel in Kiryat Anavim. On the eve of Rosh Hashanah 5734, he was appointed director of the Karei Deheesh lodge on the shore of the Sea of ​​Galilee, and his students admired him for his great charm and radiant personality, and his home received many letters from youth who were his apprentices, praising his work. The youth of Karei Desheh, who rushed to join his unit, which took part in the battles of containment and break-up against the Egyptian enemy in Sinai, on October 24, 1973. He was killed in the battles to conquer the city of Suez, In Netanya he left behind his parents, brother and sister, and his book was published in the Hebrew University of Beirut In memory of her teachers and students who fell in the Yom Kippur War.
