Abzeth, Jacob
Son of Alter and Malka. He was born on July 7, 1929 in Lodz, Poland. He immigrated to Israel in 1946. He is a member of the Ramat Yohanan group and is very attached to it, and especially to its children. He was drafted into the IDF in January 1950 and served in the Nahal Brigade. He was in a training course and on 9 Tevet 5711 (8.12.1950) he left for a position and did not return. His body was not found and a monument in his memory was erected in the missing-persons section of the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. In the 1930s, the Ramat Yohanan group devoted the pamphlet to his memory. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
