Abutbul, Shlomo


Son of Solika and Avraham. Shlomo was born in Morocco on the 17th of Iyar, May 1, 1950. He studied in a school in Casablanca, from 1956 to 1964. He completed his high school studies in Israel. On August 13, 1968, Shlomo enlisted in regular service as a border guard, underwent basic training with honors, and was assigned to serve in Company B. He served in an operational company during the morning patrol, to open roads from the settlement. Shlomo’s friends say that he was a model, they loved him very much. Commanders praised him for his performance and his functions at all times. Shlomo was an honest and reliable policeman, and an unarmed member of the army. He loved sports of all kinds, especially football. On the 12th of Nissan, March 31, 1969, Shlomo fell in the line of duty when, near Ein Gedi, the APC turned upside down. He was nineteen years old. He was laid to rest in the Be’er Sheva cemetery.
