Son of Miriam and Elijah (Lolik). He was born on 19 March 1968 in Tiberias. He studied at the Ehrlich elementary school in Tiberias. He completed his studies at the Amal High School in Tiberias. Gil was a sports fan and especially loved water skiing and had been involved in it for four years. Gil enlisted in the army in early January 1987 and volunteered as a member of the Nahal group for Kibbutz Nahal Ortal, where he served in Kibbutz Beit Hashita and Kibbutz Ortal. After basic training, and after being trained as a combat soldier, he was assigned to a Nahal unit in the north of the country. On the 17th of Kislev 5748 (December 7, 1987) Gil fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Tiberias. Survived by his parents, brother Ronen and sister Liat. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Gil planned to go on unpaid leave to educate and train youth on the way he believed. Gil was an excellent soldier and was able to fulfill his duties and responsibilities. Responsible and dedicated and loved the military framework. “His parents commemorated him at the Ehrlich elementary school in Tiberias where he studied.
