Abu, Smadar

The daughter of Janet and Victor. She was born on 19.11.1965 in Haifa. She attended the Ein-Hayam Elementary School in Haifa. After that, she completed her studies in the municipal high school in the humanities track. Smadar was recruited to the IDF in July 1984. After completing basic training and training in a communications course, she was stationed in the Signal Corps unit at the northern rear headquarters, and in April 1985 she moved to serve in the Golani Brigade. In the letter of condolence to the family, Smadar wrote: “Smadar served in my unit for about four months, while she was serving in the army. Smadar was very interested in serving in the Golani Brigade, despite all the difficulties involved, and preferred this unit with A rear unit.
