Abu-Rokaya, Jawadat (Gadi)


Ben Fatma and Chadar. He was born on February 27, 1978 in the village of Meisser in the Triangle. A brother to Thamer, Nidal, and a title. He studied at the elementary school in the village and completed his studies at the Yama agricultural high school, where he had a full matriculation certificate. Jawad, whom everyone called Gadi, was active and involved in the community. He served as a youth counselor in the youth house in the village and secured youth trips. He loved painting, swimming and diving, knew the art of cooking and made coffee. At the beginning of April 1997 he joined the IDF and served for three years as a Border Guard fighter in Gan Ner, Afula, where he worked for two years as a cook’s assistant in Kfar Maccabiah in Ramat Gan. Then he moved closer to his native village and worked on Kibbutz Magal as a security guard. A few years later, he decided to return to the IDF, signed a career army service and served in the “Menashe” regional brigade as a “Hummer” jeep driver, during which he successfully completed a first aid course and other courses. First sergeant Gadi Abu-Rokaya fell in the line of duty on June 25, 2006. He was twenty-eight years old when he fell, and was brought to rest in the cemetery in his village, tormenting, leaving parents, two sisters and a brother .
