Abu Hatzeira, Yosef


Son of Ya’ish and Masuda. He was born in 1949 in Agadir, Morocco, and immigrated with his family to Israel in 1963. The family settled in Kiryat Gat and Yosef completed his studies at the Massuah Elementary School, where he went to work to support his parents and help them support the family. Joseph was drafted into the IDF in mid-November 1966. His enlistment had a positive influence on him and he became a boy of man in his behavior and thoughts. He was a disciplined and responsible soldier and served as a model for other soldiers. He received many compliments from his commanders on this behavior. He participated in the Six-Day War and won the war. He served in the Lachish region, but was sometimes sent to the Gaza Strip and the Jordan Valley according to the needs of his job. To the rank of sergeant In early June 1971, he was seriously injured while carrying out his duties and was brought to a hospital, and he was buried in the military section of the cemetery in Kiryat Gat on the 17th of Sivan 5731 (June 15, 1971).
