Abu Hamda, Emil

Emil was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of June 1986. After completing basic training, he was sent to the Armored Corps unit in the post of Mahsana Clerk, and on September 9, 1986 Emil was killed in the cemetery in the village of Yirka, Nabil, Samir, Kamil and Faraj, and three sisters – Saada, Hodaya and Maysa – in a letter of condolence to the family, his commander wrote: “You arrived at a field unit in the Golan Heights to serve and contribute in the front line. You did your job quietly, discreetly. You knew how to help your friends in good spirits. You went off with your friends to vacation. The elements of nature took you in a way that left us astonished, grieving and unkempt. Emil’s death is another loss for a community that has shed many good people in the bloodbath between the community and the IDF and the state. “
