Abramowitz, Shimon

Son of Gisela and David Abraham was born in 1915 in Piatra-Niametz, Romania. He studied at the elementary school and then tried his luck at various jobs and for a time worked in a shoe store. During the Second World War, he served in the Romanian army and fell into Russian captivity. After liberation, he tried to return to his life in Romania, but the living conditions became more difficult and bad than before. In 1948, he got to Israel as a “Gachal” he served as a soldier in the Israel Air Force and on January 19, 1949, he committed suicide by shooting in the Zrifin camp.Was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
