Abramowitz, Pinchas

Their son was the firstborn of Sarah and Moshe, one of the founders of Zichron Yaakov. He was born in 1892 in Zichron Yaakov and studied at the Rothschild School in the village. Upon finishing his studies he helped his parents in the family farm. The family had farmland near Giv’at Ada, where they raised wheat. During the cultivation of the land, sowing and harvesting, the men in the family would leave for the area on Sunday and return to the settlement on Friday when they would leave guards behind. Pinchas, who was a 19-year-old boy and belonged to the “Gedonim” association in the moshav, remained to guard the threshing floor with his friend. On Yom Kippur, 10 October 1910, a bullet was fired from the second guard, Pinchas was severely wounded and died of his wounds, and was brought to eternal rest in the Zichron Yaakov cemetery.
