Abramovitch, Yitzhak (Itzik)


Yitzhak (Itzik), son of Tovah and Baruch-Avraham Abramovitch, was born on March 26, 1917. After graduating from elementary school, he went to work and spent several years in the Alumot group and in Kibbutz Ma’aleh Hahamisha, where he worked in agriculture and in frameworks. He settled in Holon where together with his wife raised their three children, although his wish was to return to kibbutz life and agriculture. Yitzhak fought in battles and operations on various fronts (the Hatikva neighborhood, Jaffa, Beit Dagon, Tel-A-Rish. On the 11th of Iyar 5708 (May 20, 1948), fell in a bombing attack in Holon. He was brought to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
