Abramovich, Avraham (Abie)


Son of-Rosa and David-Shlomo, was born in 1928 in Alexandria, Egypt. Studied at a Jewish school and later graduated from high school. With a strong mental attraction to Zionism, he came to Israel in 1946 as a tourist, received a clerical job at Spaniey’s company in Haifa and became a citizen of Israel. He did his duty in the Haganah and later in the Israel Defense Forces. He was sent to the front in the Upper Galilee, served in the Carmeli Brigade and was among the defenders of Mishmar Hayarden. On Tuesday, July 10, 1948, the Syrians attacked and conquered the moshavah, Avraham was absent in this battle, and his body was found later and brought to rest at the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
