Abraham, Nathan


Son of Yaacov and Sarah. Born in 1949 in Halabja, Iraq. The family immigrated to Israel when he reached school age. He attended the “Shahal” elementary school in Netanya’s Vatikim neighborhood. He continued to study carpentry at the “Neurim” In Kfar Vitkin, but did not finish his studies. When he reached the army, he was drafted into the Armored Corps. Before he completed his regular service, he fell during the performance of his duties, near Ismailia, on the 27th of Sivan, June 23, 1968, in a shooting incident with the Egyptians. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Netanya. The commander of his unit wrote to his family, in a letter of condolences, “His memory will serve as an example to the young of our generation, who with courage, maintains the borders of our thirsty state for lasting peace.”
