Abraham, Jacob


Son of Allegra and Samuel. Jacob (Jacito) was born in Izmir, Turkey on 10.4.1937. The family immigrated to Israel in 1948 and Yaakov studied at the Meiri School in Lod, where Yaakov joined the IDF and served in an armored unit. Later he worked as a locksmith in the “test”. On May 17, 1970, Yaakov enlisted in the Border Police, where he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. In his service he participated in the Kadesh system, the Six Day War, the Yom Kippur War and the Peace for Galilee War. Yaakov was an active member of the company, and a sportsman of all kinds – was the soccer player of Hapoel Lod, and on September 16, 1984, Jacob fell in the line of duty, and died of a malignant disease in which he struggled for a long time. Was forty-seven years old when he fell and was laid to rest in the military section of the Lod cemetery, followed by a wife and four children
