Abraham, Hector
Hector, son of Elizabeth and David, was born on September 15, 1947, in Solhpur, India, and immigrated to Israel with his family in 1959. He began his studies at St. Joseph Elementary School in his hometown. After immigrating to Israel, he completed his studies in elementary school and later in high school at the Hadassah institution in Nitzanim. Hector had technical skills and was interested mainly in electronics. He was well versed in this field and his interest went beyond mere hobby. He saw in him his future and therefore read many books dealing with this subject, expanded his knowledge and enriched his education. In his youth he was an outstanding athlete and one of the senior athletes of the Nitzanim school. Hector was drafted into the Israel Navy in early April 1965. He served as a chemist on the navy ship and was primarily involved in the operation of electronic devices, and was an excellent professional with understanding and perception and ability to improvise and find a suitable solution for any problem he encountered. In early December 1967, Hector was discharged from regular service and assigned to a reserve unit of the Israel Navy, where he was called for periods of reserve service, after which he completed his studies in communications and electronics He began his career with Tadiran and joined the team two years later Hector worked in the British Institutes of Education in writing and at the College of Electronics, and was sent by Motorola for advanced training in Germany and the US Hector had extensive experience in the field of electronics, And was an excellent technician, but he was not satisfied with this and wanted to expand his education and study for an “electronics engineer.” His fall in battle during reserve service interrupted his life and prevented the realization of his great dream. In March 1974 Hector returned from his training in Germany and was drafted into active reserve duty. On April 22, 1974, he fell in the line of duty in the Gaza Strip and was brought to rest in the Rishon Letzion cemetery where his family lived, leaving behind his parents, three brothers and two sisters. Had a severe impact on his family and especially on his father, who could not bear the pain and died before thirty days had passed since his son died.
