Aboud, Mordechai


Son of Hannah and Ezra was born on 25.4.1929 in Jerusalem, the only son of his parents. He studied for a few years in school and went to work to help his parents. He specialized in cutting stones for the building and his salary was the only source of income for his elderly parents. In the winter of 1948, at the age of 16 and a half, the Arab assaults began in Jerusalem, and immediately he came to the service, and his parents objected to it for fear of his life and the future of the three of them, but he rejected their opposition by saying, “If I fall, I will fall for the homeland.” (24.4.1948), on the 24th of April 1948, to fulfill his duties in the Department of Public Works in the street, and in the course of his work, he was hit by a bullet in the head and after seven hours of agony died in the hospital and was buried in Sanhedria in Jerusalem 24 Av 5761 (26.9.1951) was transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery at Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
