Son of Simi and Eliyahu. Hanania was born on February 5, 1960 in Morocco, immigrated to Israel in 1962 and spent his childhood in Beit Shemesh in 1962. He completed eleven years of study and spent a lot of time in sports, especially soccer and basketball. , After regular service in the Border Police, Hanania signed and served for five years as a combatant in the Border Police in Ramallah. After being injured during a demonstration, he was sent to a cookery course and moved to the kitchen. In 1985, he moved to serve in the Border Police in Hebron, where he always took care of others and made his surroundings comfortable, as if they were in their home. And a devoted husband who loved his family, always showed great devotion to the family, was most admired and accepted by his friends and neighbors, advanced sergeant Hananiah fell during his duties on February 11, 1993. Thirty-three years old in his fall. He was laid to rest in the Beit Shemesh cemetery. Hanania was immortalized in several ways: At the base in Hebron, Hanania Gilad’s friends established his memory. At the Border Police base in Ramallah, a memorial plaque was dedicated to his memory, and his friends in the Border Police donated a cupboard to the Beit Shemesh synagogue. A song was written in memory of Hananiah.
