Abergel, David (Dudu)
Son of Esther and Moshe, was born on November 16, 1959, in Tel Aviv. David was a shy little boy but acceptable in society. In the kindergarten he excelled in craftwork, and when he entered elementary school, he stood out in sports lessons. In his free time he used to watch the birds and even raised chicks in his house. He was an avid soccer fan and used to go to the games and especially Hapoel Tel Aviv, his favorite team. Among his hobbies was fishing. From an early age David joined his father and together they went fishing at the port of Jaffa. When he grew up and reached Bar Mitzvah age, his family celebrated the occasion in a banquet hall with great joy and splendor. In high school, he studied in a framework program, a profession he loved and excelled in, and even received a scholarship. During his studies David was active in the school committees and in various circles. He liked to go out and spend time with his friends, and go on walks in nature. David enlisted in the army and was assigned to serve in the IAF as a fire engine driver in an aviation squadron. On the 27th of Nissan 5740 (March 27, 1980) David fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Holon, where he left behind his parents, two sisters and a brother, David was a loyal friend, dedicated to his friends, with a sense of responsibility and the image of a leader. He was the one who worked hard, until he succeeded. “His parents commemorated his purchase of a Torah scroll to the Sha’arei Zion Synagogue in the Hashmonaim High School in Bat Yam.
