Abba, Shai Indesh’hu


Ben Abatiye and Danihu Was born on January 1, 1982 in Gondar, Ethiopia, the eldest son of his parents, and at the age of nine his family immigrated to Israel and lived in Rosh Hanikra, where Shai went to an elementary school in Shlomi. And finally settled in Kiryat Motzkin, where he completed his high school studies at the Meron boarding school, and before his enlistment he attended the pre-military preparatory program for new immigrants, Yemin Orde, and prepared himself for a significant service in the IDF. In July 2002 Shai joined the IDF and served as a combat soldier for the Givati ​​Brigade for about a year and a half. On the 2nd of Shvat 5764 (2.2.2004) Shai was killed in a training accident during an operational activity in the Golan Heights at the age of twenty-two, and he was laid to rest in the military section of the Tzur Shalom cemetery in Kiryat Motzkin. . Shai was survived by his parents, two sisters – Hadas and Sarah, and brother Daniel, and six brothers from his father’s second marriage – Alghu, Thabo, Picasso, Testa, Abtamo and Natan. About two weeks after his death, his sister, Linoy, whose name Shai chose before his death, was born.
