Son of Ezra Hacohen and Najila. He was born in 1938 in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, and immigrated to Israel in 1951. After completing his studies at the elementary school in Yad Eliyahu, he was forced to go to work to help with the agriculture of the family, In December 1955, but completed a few months of service and was released because of the necessity of supporting his parents.
