A woman, Eli (Eliyahu)


Ben Yehudit and Nissim. Born on 12.1.1973 in Be’er Sheva, he studied at the Tomer elementary school and completed high school at the “Comprehensive D” High School, both in Be’er Sheva. As an only child among the four girls in the family, he was always surrounded by the love of his parents and sisters, and when he grew up he became the mainstay of the family and was a loyal and devoted son to his parents and a brother who supported his sisters. He devoted his time to political activity within the party he believed in. He has a serious attitude toward my life He was always with me and always wanted to contribute to the homeland he loved and so did his military service. Afterward he volunteered to serve in the “Duvdevan” unit and underwent infantry basic training. After basic training he began the special training course for the unit. There, in hard training and difficult conditions, his friends learned to recognize the determination and perseverance behind his quiet appearance and his easy temperament. After the training period the crew members joined the operational activities in Judea and Samaria. Eli completed his training program as an outstanding trainee and at the beginning of his professional career was assigned many operational activities. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “… in these activities I was distinguished by his personal ability, his seriousness, his investment and his loyalty to his comrades in the unit.” On 8 July 1992, he fell in combat in the Jenin area during an operational activity of the unit’s soldiers in the village of Barta’a and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Be’er Sheva, leaving behind his parents and four sisters – Miri, Naama, Hagit and Adi, who published a pamphlet in his memory and wrote: “We will remember him as a good friend, a great fighter and a unique person.”
