A fistula, Adam

A fistula, Adam

Son of David and Hedva. He was born on the 26th of Sivan 5708 (June 23, 1948) in Krakow, Poland. Before he was two years old, the family immigrated to Israel with him. Adam attended the David Yellin Elementary School in Hadar-Yosef and after graduating began to study at the Mikveh Israel High School. He excelled in sports and played an exemplary accordion and a harmonica. When he was drafted in May 1966, he was assigned to the Armored Corps, and while he gave his compulsory service as a tank crewman, he fought in the Six-Day War and in his letters home he wanted to reassure his parents and wrote that he hoped everything would end well and that he would return home safe and sound. However, in a battle in Qantara, Sinai, on the fourth day of the battles, he was injured on a direct hit by a tank missile while he fought with courage and devotion. He was buried in the military emergency cemetery in Bari and was later transferred to the eternal rest of the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. His commanders, comrades-in-arms, and his entire unit proudly marked Adam with a letter of condolence to his parents, his supreme spirit, and his self-sacrifice,
