Zion, Moshe

Son of Esther and David, was born on September 30, 1925 in the city of Skopalya, Yugoslavia. In 1939 he immigrated to Israel with his parents. He attended elementary school and later worked as a driver. From his youth he was active in the Irgun underground and tasted the taste of a British prison, and he carried out dangerous missions without fear, saying that “if we die we will establish a second generation for the homeland, but it will rise.” He married Livneh and had two children, but he was often absent from the family nest in Petach Tikvah and went to work for the liberation of the country, without aversion to hostility and danger. Moshe fulfilled his duties quickly and devotedly until he became ill and was taken to Beilinson Hospital where he died on January 7, 1949. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Petah Tikva.
