Zeleniker, Ronen


Ben Shulamit and Abraham. He was born on the 11th of Kislev 5764 (6.12.1973) in Haifa. An only child of a family of three. Ronen studied at Tzur Shalom Elementary School, Tzur Shalom, the Kfar Galim Junior High School and the “Kfar HaYarok” High School, in the automotive mechanics course. Ronen did a lot of sports. He participated in wrestling competitions, ran long distances and practiced weightlifting. He was a pleasant, humble boy who never took pride in his actions and accomplishments. He maintained a warm and loving relationship with his family and helped the house as much as he could. Ronen had “handshake” and produced wonderful works. When he studied in the Green Village, he built and set up sets for plays, social events and parties. In March 1992, Ronen was drafted into compulsory military service in the IDF, completing basic training and being sent to the course of a car mechanic at Bahad 20. At the end of the course he received the rank of corporal and was assigned to serve as a mechanic and driver at the Megiddo detention facility. He was a quiet guy who loved to help and support, loved his work and performed his duties professionally and responsibly .On June 22, 1994, Ronen fell to the military cemetery in Haifa And was survived by his parents and three sisters, Lilach, Orit and Moran, who was twenty years old when Ronen fell in. In a letter of condolences to the bereaved family, “Ronen served as an auto mechanic for two years and performed his role in the discovery of responsibility, dedication and professionalism noteworthy. … Ronen lived the life of the unit, acquired many friends, his constant smile is a ray of light, in difficult moments. … Ronen loved nature and cultivated a desolate plot of land for an ornamental corner. This will be a corner for Ronen’s memory and we will continue to preserve and nurture this corner. “
