Zabek (Zehavi), Yitzchak (Isaac)


Son of Aliza and Eliyahu, was born on the 27th of Kislev, December 29, 1929 in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. He immigrated to Israel with his parents in 1935. The family settled in Haifa, and Yitzchak began to attend elementary school. When he finished, he began to work. In the evenings, he continued to study on his own, and acquired a matriculation certificate with honors. It was close to the UN General Assembly resolution on the partition of the country, and Yitzchak, a member of the Haganah, had enlisted in full service, completing various military courses (including sabotage) and proving his ability. He fell during the line of duty on the 4th of Tammuz, July 11, 1948. He was laid to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Rosh Pina.
