Yost, Yaakov

Son of Miriam and David, he was born on 18.3.1930, 18th of Adar 5690 in the city of Jaslo (west Galicia), Poland. When he was three, his parents immigrated to Palestine and settled in Tel Aviv. At the beginning of December 1947 he immediately volunteered for service and participated in the defense of South Tel Aviv, Givat Herzl, Abu Kabir, Hatikva neighborhood, etc. Yaakov fell in a raid on Abu Kabir on the 3rd of Adar Aleph 5708 (February 13, 1948). He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahalat Yitzhak.
