Yegar, Haim (Zvi)


Son of Jacob and Rachel. He was born on 19.10.1950 in Sighet, Romania, where he studied in an elementary school in Romania and after his family emigrated to Israel he entered the Shkadiel religious school in Ramle and completed his studies there. He lived in the first grades of elementary school, he knew Romanian, Russian, Ukrainian and Hungarian, he spoke Yiddish and then studied German and French, where he studied Hebrew and English. He has many talents and is one of the outstanding students, and after graduating from elementary school, he began studying in the army’s high school In early April 1969 he was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the Navy. Four months later, on August 13, 1969, he was absent in the performance of his duties. A memorial monument was erected on the Mount of the Absent on Mount Herzl. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
