Yarkoni, Oded


Son of Sarah and Zvi, was born on January 31, 1931, in Kibbutz Givat Brenner. He studied in elementary school and in his later classes. He loved agricultural work and was involved in the life of the children’s society. He had a natural wisdom and a mental harmony. Oded excelled as an athlete, as a volleyball player, basketball, soccer, swimming and athletics, loved music, played the violin and the harmonica. Oded was active in the defense service and was sent to a squad commanders’ course, and when he returned from the course, he instructed his friends in the school and his friends in general. Was killed on the 30th of March 1948. At the time of the retreat, Haifa, with his submachine gun, retraced his retreating comrades and when the bullets were thrown, he threw a grenade into the enemy’s ranks And was hit by a machine gun and fell, and Oded was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Givat Brenner.
