Wolowicz, Yitzhak


Son of Israel and Yaffa. He was born on October 18, 1922 in Kishinev, Bessarabia. He immigrated to Israel in 1934 and was then 12 years old and completed his studies at the Montefiore vocational school in Tel Aviv and began working in the Ludzia factory, and also supported his widowed mother, who was a mechanical and mechanic. During the Second World War, he enlisted in the British Air Force, but was not allowed to fly but was engaged in the production of oxygen for the pilots. He went to the pilots’ school and, when he was in it, told his mother: “This is the happiest day of my life.” At the end of the war he returned to work in the factory and continued his studies And in December 1947 he joined the ranks of the Israel Air Force and was one of the first volunteers in this corps, and in May 1948 he was sent abroad for an internship. In November 1948, he returned to Israel, toured the air and continued his studies in Tys, falling during his duties on the 5th of Tammuz 5709 (1949) and was brought to rest in the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery. After they fell, he was promoted to air-command.
