Weiss, Zvi


Son of Fanny and Joseph, was born in 1925 in one of the Jewish communities in Poland. With the arrival of the Holocaust and his detachment from the family, the boy managed to disguise himself as a Christian and to find work secretly with a Polish farmer in one of the villages. During these two years, when he was threatened daily by the danger of revealing his secret and handing it over to the Germans, he underwent a good agricultural training program, which made it easier for him to absorb him in Palestine, which he arrived from Romania on 30.10.1945. Zvi joined the youth association, which was educated in Dafna and Shaked, mainly on language learning, the completion of agricultural knowledge, general education and absorption of pioneering Hebrew culture. He was about to settle permanently in Misgav Am, but before that he had fulfilled his obligation to defend the homeland in the Palmach and enlisted in the Yiftah Brigade, where he participated in many battles and fell in Operation Danny in the battle for the conquest of Lod on 11 July. 1948). He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
