The only daughter of Osnat and Tzvi Zakai was born on 20.5.1913 in the town of Radzichov, Galicia, and was educated in a very religious and meticulous atmosphere, a shy and self-contained young woman who visited her grandfather’s house in the Ukraine, Became a zionist Zionist, learned Hebrew and aspired to immigrate to Eretz Israel, and her parents vigorously opposed this step until the day when her father’s younger brother, who had come as an emissary from Eretz Israel, arrived in Israel and succeeded in persuading Miriam’s parents to allow her to immigrate to Israel. , Joined the “Yodfat” group of Hakibbutz Hameuchad, which settled in Safed and prepared itself for immigration to the land. In the War of Independence, on May 23, 1948, Miriam was killed in a Syrian plane attack on the kibbutz, and she was brought to rest in the cemetery in Mahanaim After her death, she was awarded the Hagana and the Letter of Independence, and on the first anniversary of the Nakba, a memorial booklet was published by her kibbutz, in which she wrote articles of appreciation in her memory.
