During his studies at “Meir Shfeya” Michael went on a tour of Poland. From this journey, Amos Rechamim returned, mature and conscious, and expressed his love for the homeland. After completing twelve years of study, Michael continued to study at the “Green Village” college, and was trained as an engineer in the field of automotive mechanics. Upon his enlistment in the IDF on June 19, 2001, he was assigned to the Ordnance Corps as he wanted, and underwent three months of training at the Bahad 20 as a mechanic from the Haganah. He was very pleased with the unit he served in, from the commanders and friends, was loved by everyone and did not stop smiling. Although he was an introverted person, he was well integrated, and during the breaks and in the evening he was part of the guys. His friends know that he was known as the number one in the unit. In his free time, Michael worked on computers and practiced judo. As a young man, he proved to be a great talent for playing the guitar, but as usual he was modest and did not play much for his unitmates. But when a friend’s guitar came to him, everyone sat around him in the evening after a hard day of work, Michael playing and the friends singing, excited by his melody. Throughout his life, Michael helped his family as much as possible. He was given the opportunity to move and serve in a unit close to his home, but he refused because of his love for the position, the unit and its soldiers. Before he was killed, he was nominated for the title “Outstanding Soldier”. On April 10, 2002, Michael made his way to the base on the “Egged” bus on line 960. The commander of the platoon, senior sergeant Yoav Elhadad, said: “When I think that you should speak about you in the past tense and have to eulogize you, Michael, it’s very hard for me.” Michael was a model soldier and a quiet man. Only three weeks ago I lost my nephew in a terrorist attack on his way to his base in Nazareth, and now I have to eulogize my soldier, and as in the parade of angels, you joined him as well. I believe in the complete belief that we can live in our country in peace and security, comfortable in our lives Bible in peace. “
