Tzemach, Itzik (Tzuki)

Son of Miriam and Joseph. He was born on the eve of Rosh Hashana, on the 17th of Tishrei, 5770 (17.9.1974), in Kibbutz Gaaton, a young brother to Meirav and Idit, and Itzik was born 4,700 grams, a fact that has become a source of pride for him. On his fourth birthday he blessed himself: “I want to congratulate me on giving the children sweets.” Itzik attended elementary school in the kibbutz, and as a child he was particularly talented for sports and especially for ball games, and in sixth grade he joined the Hapoel Nahariya “for children, and his involvement in sports did not prevent him from investing and interested in other fields, and thus found himself holding the honorary title” Livestock Officer “. In about two hours, he took care of chicks, fed children and pursued ducks, and after graduating from sixth grade, he moved with his group from the kibbutz to study at the “Oshrat Educational Institute.” Itzik became a boy and a eighth grade classmate. In the ninth grade he met Li, and a great love was created between them, which lasted four years, but school is not only love, it is also necessary to learn. Itzik never understood why there was a class in the classroom, while you could stroll with the guys to the Bahai Gardens or play basketball. His teacher, Ada, wrote: “The sound of the name Itzik conjures up the image of a young, strong and full-fledged Ilan tree … I saw Itzik growing rapidly into the sky, like that young tree. When he decided to study and fulfill his commitments as a student, he did so stubbornly, with his healthy instinct for the real reality, with both feet on the ground, his sense of observation was strong enough. Everything he experienced, everything he experienced, became a factor in his life landscape. ” As his teacher says, in the second half of the 10th grade there was a significant improvement in Itzik’s attitude towards the studies and his achievements. A year later, when he was asked to submit a thesis, he naturally chose to focus on the field he loved. He decided to study the subject of irrigation in Bananas and toiled for it for many days, too seriously, which he had not seen before. And his labor did bear fruit. Itzik examined the effect of drip irrigation on irrigation of effluents, growth and yield indices in bananas, and the method he found today serves banana growers. This work was highly appreciated. The work assessor, Dr. A. Lahav of the Volcani Center, wrote: “The work is written in a personal approach and in a beautiful and clean language. No doubt Itzik could have been a brilliant researcher in the future. “Itzik found time for social activities at the school, was a member of the cultural committee and of the Zofit committee, and was a devoted lighting expert. When he returned, he said: “Every Jew has to try to understand.” Itzik was not a leader, but he was certainly charismatic and dominant. He knew how to laugh, to have fun and to take everything easy. Got along with everyone, always gave a good word and a typical smile, even those found on the margins of society. At the end of March 1993, Itzik was drafted into the IDF, where he successfully passed the tests and enlisted in the Nahal Brigade and went on to do basic training, and did everything to make the service easier for him and those around him. What was the next stage in the route, and before each journey he made meticulous notes so as not to bother anyone, despite the difficult service he never complained to, and on the contrary, he told about it jokingly. Near Arad, who loved the army and his comrades-in-armsIt was said that he was a true friend, who always helped and supported, smiled and laughed. On February 15, 1994, Itzik was killed in a car accident during a training exercise, when he was laid to rest in Kibbutz Ga’aton, and was survived by his parents and two sisters. “Itzik showed great devotion to his colleagues and served as their mainstay. He was the driving and encouraging force. Itzik was one of the most prominent soldiers on the team at the level of achievement, discipline and responsibility. Every member of his family set up a commemorative garden and a memorial corner in Kibbutz Ga’aton, where he was born and raised, and his group, Snunit, published a booklet in memory of Itzik, in which they wrote: “On your way, . And this Swallow, which was part of you and you / you were so much more important than her, / You could never fly again … “.
