Tzanani, Elya

Elya, son of Orly and Mordechai-Asher Tzanani, was born in 1988 in Moshav Zevdiel, near Kiryat Gat. He was called by his name because he was born on Saturday night, the time waiting for Elijah the Prophet and singing the song “Elijah the Prophet …” which is remembered for good. He was a generous boy who loved to help others. When he saw people carrying baskets on the side of the road, he stopped and offered them a lift to their home. Elya fell during his duty on April 2, 2013, four days after being injured in a car accident and hospitalized in serious condition. He was twenty-four years old. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Gat. Survived by parents, five brothers and four sisters.
