Ben Chava and Abraham was born on October 14, 1909, in Trembowla, Poland. In the course of the 1936 riots, he joined the Haganah, reached the rank of instructor and was given the task of supervising the positions on the day and arranging the guard duty at night. At the end of 1938, he went to Poland and brought his fiancée to Israel, where he and his wife enlisted in the British army, Many of his students emigrated to Eretz Israel, and at the end of 1945 he was released from the British army and returned to Israel He moved to Jerusalem to teach at “Mercazia”, taught his classmates electricity, plumbing, frames and carpentry, and founded a new department for the teaching of a workshop called “Bedek Bet.” He established a professional study program approved by the Education Department of the Jerusalem Municipality. As a platoon commander, he commanded the positions in the new Montefiore neighborhood, and on Sunday, June 8, 1948, Israel fell in Talpiot by a shell. He left behind a wife and child. The “Bedek Beit” department, which he founded, was called by the “Mercazia” teachers in the name of the deceased. On the 28th of Elul 5710 (10.9.1950) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
