Treser, Menachem


Son of Malka and Avraham Mordechai was born on the 29th of Heshvon, November 20, 1922, in the city of Czernowitz, Romania. With the outbreak of the Second World War he succeeded in escaping from the Germans and after nine months in a Romanian army labor camp escaped and arrived in Palestine in 1944 with the first immigrants, fleeing from the sword of the Nazis, on the illegal immigrant ship Kazabek. His group worked in Sdeh Nahum, and when he left for another hachshara , in another farm he stayed there and built his home there. During the War of Independence, in the battle for the occupation of Jenin and the purification of the valley, on the 25th of Iyar, June 3, 1948, Menachem fell. He was brought to rest at the cemetery in Sde Nahum, leaving behind a wife and two-year-old daughter and parents who arrived from Cyprus shortly after his fall.
