Trebolsky, Yehuda


Yehuda, son of Aliza and Moshe, was born on June 14, 1954 in Holon. And attended the religious elementary school “Yeshurun” in his hometown. Yehuda was a diligent student and especially excelled in accounting, but after graduating from elementary school, he decided to go out and study a profession, even though he was successful in the examination. He studied art and worked in it until his enlistment. Yehuda was an athlete and excelled as a soccer player, especially as a goalkeeper. From childhood, he liked to build models of imitation of various weapons. He used to listen to rhythmic music and liked to dance to the rhythm of the music. Yehuda also worked in horticulture and lovingly worked his garden. He was cheerful, mischievous, and always had a good spirit. Everyone recognized him as a friendly and helpful person, and all his friends loved him and called him “Udi”. He was a devoted son to his parents and connected to his family. In preparation for his brother’s marriage, he took care of preparations and hospitality, and the celebration of marriage was the source of joy and happiness. He was a sturdy, handsome man. Yehuda was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1972 and assigned to the Armored Corps. After completion of basic training, and after completing a course in Armored Corps, he was sent to an armored unit in a tank post and was awarded the rank of corporal. He was a devoted soldier and a loyal friend, admired for his commanders and comrades-in-arms, and excelled as an experienced and efficient crewman. In the Yom Kippur War, Yehuda’s unit fought in the Tel Fares area of the Golan Heights, in an attempt to stop the Syrian attack. In the battle that took place on October 6, 1973, his tank was hit directly and he was killed, brought to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind his parents, brothers and sisters. “Yehuda demonstrated his ability and courage vis-a-vis the enemy.” To commemorate his memory, his parents donated a grant to his school, Yeshurun, to purchase books for the school library.
