Toriz, Roger

Son of Mary and Joseph, was born in 1914 in France. He volunteered for the Israel Defense Forces during the War of Independence and served as a squad commander in Battalion 63 in Company A. He fell while sniping at Mandelbaum’s homes in Jerusalem on the 16th of Av, 5708 (August 16, 1948) and the next day he was buried in Sheikh Bader Aleph. After a while he was put to rest in a special section of the Haifa military cemetery
