(To Limov), Michael
Son of Shmuel and Deuter. He was born on May 13, 1959 in Elmauta in the Soviet Union and immigrated with his family to Israel in 1972. He completed his elementary studies in his hometown of Russia and continued at the vocational high school in Beit Shemesh where the family lived. He specialized in the profession of regrets. Michael was a cheerful, sociable boy, open-minded and open-hearted. After overcoming the difficulties of the Hebrew language, he found his place in the local children’s society, as he did so successfully in Russia. He had a natural wisdom of life, and because of his living conditions he also developed a sense of adaptation to any new situation. Since the age of the girls he had worked in various jobs, succeeded in all of them and even helped his mother with housework. Michael brought with him from Russia cultural habits he had been educated there; he read a lot, mainly Russian literature, played the accordion, and again – only the sentimental Russian songs. Was an excellent dancer and a good athlete. Michael worked in many sports – tennis, basketball, skiing, running – but preferred the punch, and in this area even took part in competitions and received prizes. In the middle of June 1977, Michael was drafted into the IDF and assigned to the Ordnance Corps, where he served as a workshop attendant in a regimental unit on Wednesday, March 2, 1979. Michael fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. He was 20 years old. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. In his memory, the family donated a Torah scroll to the main synagogue of the Kurdish community in Or Yehuda.
